New Rotary International President for July 1, 2025 
We are excited to share the news announcing the selection of Francesco Arezzo of Italy to be 2025-26 Rotary International President. As you know, President-Elect Mario de Camargo notified the Board several weeks ago that he was resigning and would not accept the Presidency beginning July 1, for personal and business reasons. The Rotary Board of Directors acted quickly to fill the role with Francesco Arezzo of Italy. Meet the president-elect.

Austin Awards Rotary Scholarships

In a powerful display of support and investment in the future, the Rotary Club of Austin awarded over $89,000 in scholarships to outstanding high school seniors during a heartfelt luncheon held on April 29th at the Ben Hur Shrine Temple. The annual event marked the culmination of months of collaboration between the Rotary Club’s Scholarship Committee and high school counselors across the Austin area.

Almost a Ton of Styrofoam & a Ton Of Fun!
The Rotary Club of Austin-Southwest has operated a booth the first Saturday of the month at SFC Farmers Market in S.W. Austin since October 2023. The goal has been to provide a handy collection spot for the community to drop off clean Styrofoam for our Club to take to Austin Reuse-Recycle.

Heritage Pride Project
On Tuesday, 13 May 2025, The Rotary Club of Flatonia and the Junior Class at Flatonia High School, who are taking U.S. History, spent a full day of touring and entertainment at The National Mounted Warrior Museum, located near Fort Cavazos (Hood) in Killeen, Texas. The morning began with guided tours by Fort Cavazos (Hood) servicemen and museum docents, throughout the museum, learning about the Army’s mounted cavalry from horses to motorcycles to tanks to helicopters.

Rotarians Juan & Juanita Lira last week delivered school supplies to Miguel F. Martinez Elementary School in Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas, Mexico. These supplies will help the students be ready for the new school year.

2025 Rotary Law Enforcement Appreciation Banquet in Caldwell
Every year the Rotary of Caldwell comes together to show community support for the law enforcement agencies in our beautiful county. Amongst all the door prizes, and the competitive silent auctions we got to hear from representatives from each agency on updates, changes, and performance. The banquet was held at the Caldwell Civic Center on Friday, June 20, 2025.

75th Anniversary! 
May 15th Rotary Club of Marble Falls celebrated their 75th Anniversary at the Lakeside Pavilion with many District 5870 Rotary Dignitaries on hand!
Bastrop Rotarian on Honor Flight 
Rotarian Robert Lindsey was aboard Austin’s Honor Flight returned from Washington, DC earlier in June. This 98th Austin Flight carried 47 veterans on a trip to the nation’s Capital, where they visited Arlington Cemetery, the tomb of the Unknown Soldier, plus other revered locations.

The Rotary Clubs of Austin and Killeen hosted the Mercado military family from Ft. Cavazos for a special R&R weekend in Austin as a thank you for SPC Mercado’s military service. Thanks to our sponsor Stephen F. Austin for the Grand Sonesta they enjoyed being in the center of downtown Austin for a complimentary two-night stay and took advantage of exploring the beauty of our city.

Solar challenge for Rotary members 
The Million Solar Panels initiative is a campaign to encourage Rotarians to purchase solar panels in order to impact climate change and at the same time reduce their power bills. The rapid transition to Renewable Energy is needed to stop a Climate Crisis. We can wait for our governments to take action or Rotarians can lead the way.
