Each year Rotary Club of Westlake presents two scholarships to two high school seniors. These Westlake High School seniors have exhibited high performance working towards their college education. On Friday, August 11, the club presented Mitchell Schultz with his scholarship check. Mitchell will be a Freshman at University of Texas in Austin this Fall where he plans to study environmental engineering. Congratulations to Mitchell and Hook em!
It was 108 in ATX but 153 kids (41 families) received their new school backpacks, clothes & school supplies at Southwest Family Fellowship backpack bash! -Rotary Club of Austin SW was happy to assist distributing the bags… -Families then got to play and get refreshed on watermelon & pizza! Lady Amber got the students excited this week at Wayside Academy to kick off the new school year with the Early Act First Knight program. Early Act First Knight is a character-building program to engage students in service above self and virtuous leadership. Be on the lookout for volunteer signups at our partner schools: Wayside, Hart Elementary, Harris Elementary, and Pecan Springs Elementary as our first EAFK events begin in September.
The Rotary Club of Lakeway/Lake Travis has begun its annual Car Raffle ticket sales. The drawing will be held at a gala on November 10, 2023, at the Flintrock Falls Club. The net proceeds will fund local scholarships and other charitable projects. The gross ticket sales last year were $122,300.
