World Polio Day is nearing – October 24th! I hope your club is planning to host an event. If not, consider partnering with another nearby club. Not only do you raise funds to support the eradication of Polio, you create increased public awareness of Polio and the long-term efforts of Rotary in leading the charge.

Several Killeen Heights Rotarians met at the Girl Scouts Building on 2909 Lake Road in Killeen ready to work with their gloves, shovels, rakes, chainsaws, and friends! They worked on the landscape in front of the Girl Scouts Building. Afterwards, They gathered in the Girl Scouts fellowship hall for some amazing smoked meat and banana pudding. GREAT JOB!!
The Rotary Clubs of Austin and Killeen were able to thank a soldier and his entire family of six for serving and protecting our country through a program called Operation Vacation Ft. Hood. The Rotary clubs partner with Austin Hotel Lodging Association, County Line Restaurants, Austin Convention & Visitors Bureau, Toyota Killeen and Around Austin to honor these Army families from Ft. Hood every month.
Rotary Club of La Grange partnered with the La Grange Volunteer Fire Department for a Community Meal commemorating the anniversary of Hurricane Harvey. The LGVFD grilled up 600 hamburger patties and everyone enjoyed a free meal with their friends and neighbors.
