The Rotary Club of Georgetown recently celebrated the dedication of its 16th Peace Garden, this time at Village Elementary School. Led by Rotarian Joe, with tremendous support from fellow Rotarians Raymond and Barbara, the project brought together students, staff, and community members in a meaningful celebration centered on peace, service, and connection.
The dedication ceremony included remarks from Principal Jarred, along with participation from both pre-K students and graduating 5th graders. The school’s youngest students were especially excited that their classroom window overlooks the new garden, while the 5th graders made a heartfelt promise to return and “keep an eye on it” in the years ahead. The Peace Garden program continues to grow throughout Georgetown schools, serving as a lasting reminder of Rotary’s commitment to peacebuilding, education, and community partnership.
