October is a big month for The Rotary Foundation in District 5870 and a great reminder of what happens when Rotarians turn generosity into action.
October is Polio Awareness Month
On October 24, World Polio Day, Rotarians throughout our region will come together for the World’s Largest Polio Walk, including our District Central Walk at Lake Pflugerville and club-organized walks throughout District 5870. It will be a powerful opportunity to raise awareness, support PolioPlus, and show our communities that Rotary remains committed to a polio-free world.
Be sure to read the World’s Largest Polio Walk article in this newsletter for all the details about how you and your club can participate.
One Month Left to Double Your Recognition!
October is also the final month of our District 5870 Annual Fund Match Campaign! Through October 31, eligible gifts of $250–$500 to the Annual Fund–SHARE receive a 1:1 match in Foundation Recognition Points, or while matching points remain available.
If you’ve been thinking about making your Annual Fund gift, increasing your contribution, working toward your next Paul Harris Fellow level, or helping recognize another Rotarian, October is the time.
Planning to participate? Contact Rich Kaye BEFORE making your contribution to let him know you plan to participate in the match.
Give $250 → Receive 250 recognition points
Give $500 → Receive 500 recognition points
October Is About Action
Walk for polio. Tell Rotary’s story. Support PolioPlus. Make your Annual Fund–SHARE gift. Encourage another Rotarian to get involved.
Thank you, District 5870, for your generosity, your service, and your commitment to creating lasting change.
Yours in Rotary Service,
Shannon Coleman
District Rotary Foundation Committee Chair, 2024–2027
