In April 2020, the Killeen Heights Rotary Club announced an initiative to immediately impact our community in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The intent within our Rotary Club was to receive initiatives that focus on the following priorities: Food, Family, Domestic Violence, and/or Health.  On April 24th, the Rotary Club received nine (9) submissions and were evaluated based on a set criteria.  Once evaluated, six (6) major initiatives were selected to receive immediate funding.

These six (6) initiatives were presented before our Rotary Club Board of Directors and immediately approved to be awarded to the various organizations in our community in order to provide essential services.  Organizations selected include:
  • Food Care Center ($5,000)
  • Families in Crisis ($5,000)
  • Operation Phantom Support ($2,500)
  • AWARE-Central Texas ($1,500)
  • Greater Killeen Community Clinic ($500)
  • Texas A&M University-Central Texas Campus Cupboard ($500).

According to Jim Bondi, President of Killeen Heights Rotary Club, “our Rotary donations will be timely and will make a huge impact to many members and residents of our community that are truly in need during this most critical COVID-19 pandemic time period.”
