Austin Southwest Rotary pitched in at the Will Hampton Library (Austin Public Library) for its upcoming grand re-opening. Assisting the library has been a club project for several years. This included building a new roof for the gazebo.
"Opportunity", "Inspiration", "Creativity." A simple gift of a dictionary can change the life of a child, providing the words that unlock a world of reading, writing and advanced learning. This is the guiding principle behind The Dictionary Project and it has inspired two Rotary Clubs, Rotary Club of Austin University Area (RCAUA) and Club Rotario Reynosa, to bring the magic of dictionaries to Escuela Primaria Ramon Mario Bahena Rodriguez in Reynosa.
This past Thursday Oct 17th, members of the Rotary Club of Temple South had the privilege of listening to Mayor Timothy Davis at the city council meeting. During the meeting Mayor Davis Proclaimed Oct 24th 2019 as World Polio Day for the City of Temple. Jinger Pajestka, Club President even had the chance to talk briefly about Rotary and what the Club does in the community.
Members of the Rotary Club of Austin had a great evening at Pecan Springs Elementary School handing out pizza and enjoying the kids and their families at Literacy night. We had plenty of pizza to provide for the after-school kids, staff and everyone that attended; and we had a book walk (like a cake walk), arts and crafts, story time and much more!

Rotary Club of Hillsboro in noon meeting Wednesday, October 2 presented former Rotary Club President Russell Keelin with a certificate and pin marking his induction as a Rotary International Paul Harris Fellow. Paul Harris was a Chicago attorney who founded the Rotary Club in 1905 with the motto of “Service Above Self.”
District Rotarian Beverly Luedke and the RC of Temple South hosted members of the Rotary Sponsored Monarch Ultra Relay project from Peterborough, Ontario on October 14th. The team started their project on September 19th in Peterborough and will conclude their Run Relay on November 4th near Mexico City. The team is following the route of the Monarch Butterfly as they migrate to Mexico for the winter.
On October 7 four members of the University Area Rotary Club: Dr. Clift Price, Ken Koock, Ivan Milman and Betty Richardson accompanied by members of the Club Rotario Reynosa including President David Negrete, Wes Garcia and others toured several projects the two clubs have supported together and continue to support as well as a new project.
To maintain active certified status from Rl, Interact clubs shall provide the name and contact information of an adult adviser to RI each year no later than 30 June. Failure to submit updated adult contact information to RI in a two-year period will result in termination.
Our Rotary District currently has 17 suspended Interact Clubs due to failure to report. Please don’t let this happen to you!
The Marble Falls Daybreak Rotary held their Annual Rotary Shoot Sporting Clays event on September 28, 2019. What was once a skeet and trap shoot has evolved into the Sporting Clays event, where clays are shot out in various patterns over a large Valley, in the beautiful Texas Hill country, at Copperhead Creek Shooting Club.
The Rotary Club of Austin sponsored a table at the Champion for Children luncheon that raising money for the abused children that we support at the home. The home is one of our major projects each year.
