As you read this, we are only 2-3 weeks from the end of the 2017-18 Rotary year. For me, it means I add a final letter to my string of DG titles - from DGN to DGE to DG and finally graduating to PDG - Past District Governor - a title I will proudly wear for the remaining years of my Rotary involvement (Hopefully many).
On June 9th, we held the DG and Club Leader Installation Brunch at the Oasis Restaurant at Lake Travis. PDG Rich Kaye officiated the installation of DG Jerry Chapman, DGE Jim Henry, District officers and Club Presidents. A Breakfast Fajita Brunch was served and The Oasis developed a featured “Blue Rotarian” signature drink for our event. See photos

E- 5 David Bucklas, wife Kaylee and two daughters Sophia and Harvey spent Memorial Weekend at the Holiday Inn Express Airport Austin with all expenses paid as a thank you for the soldier’s service and his family’s sacrifices. The family was treated to a fabulous BBQ dinner at the County Line on the Lake, giftcards and passes to the amusement park, Austin Parks & Pizza. This was a chance for this family to have quality fun time together since this soldier has been on emergency duty for months where he could not be more than 15 minutes from Ft. Hood so a weekend in Austin was a real treat. Operation Vacation is made possible by the partnerships of Austin & Killeen Rotary Clubs, Austin Hotel Lodging Association and County Line. Let’s thank our soldiers for your service not just on Memorial Day but every day.
