I ended the day completely exhausted… and completely inspired. What began as a bold idea from District Governor Todd Smith - to create one day of service that would touch all seven areas of focus - turned into something truly extraordinary in Cozumel.

Starting 1 May 2026, donors who make a new outright gift of $9,000 or more to The Rotary Foundation will be eligible to purchase a ticket to join Trustee Stephanie Urchick on 16 September 2026 to cheer on the Texas Rangers in a suite at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas, as they take on the Boston Red Sox. $9,000 for 9 innings of Major League Baseball – the “9 for 9” Baseball Game – will result in at least $360,000 in new gifts to The Rotary Foundation! Gifts can be in support of any Rotary Foundation program, grant, or Area of Focus.
The Rotary Club of Waco recently brought smiles and joy to a local family by partnering with the Make-A-Wish Foundation for a special project during Service Texas Day. Rotarians rolled up their sleeves to help build a custom playscape for a young girl in the community, creating a space where she can play, imagine, and simply enjoy being a kid.
Georgetown Rotary Club members took on Service Texas Day, March 28, with 3 separate projects. The handicap ramp build started at 8:00 a.m. in Granger, TX. By 1:00 p.m., the handrails were going up on this 50-foot build.
The Lakeway/Lake Travis Rotary Club had an eggscellent time on March 28, 2026 at the City of Lakeway’s annual event, Eggstravaganza. Plenty of Rotarians assisted in the club’s inaugural participation with 2000 residents and friends.
Our club in partnership with Texas A&M Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital had an overwhelming number of dogs and cats at our annual Rabies Clinic! Thanks to the great doctors and students from the Vet School that helped vaccinate 127 dogs and 44 cats.
The wait is over—and the smallest (and cutest) members of our project have officially arrived.

On April 9, Southwestern University celebrated the dedication of its Peace Garden—one of several across Georgetown and part of a global movement inspired by the message, “May Peace Prevail on Earth.” This meaningful project was brought to life through a collaborative effort between the Southwestern University Rotaract Club, the Racial Unity and Peace Building Committee within the Rotary Club of Georgetown, and community partners.
This past weekend, the Lakeway/Lake Travis Rotary Club proudly hosted our annual Adoption Awareness Event in partnership with Child Protective Service and it was nothing short of extraordinary. Over the years, this event has helped more than 60 children make meaningful connections with potential adoptive families. This year, we welcomed 35 children currently in the foster care system, each with the opportunity to meet pre-vetted families in a setting intentionally designed to feel safe, joyful, and full of possibility.
District 5870 went to deliver diapers and formula to young mothers, most teens in Cozumel. Some had traveled from the countryside and outskirts of the city to receive these items. They were in need.
The Rotary Club of Austin & Killeen hosted the Lawrence family from Ft. Hood at the Doubletree by Hilton Austin. PFC Lawrence, his wife and their one year old daughter spent two nights in Austin and received breakfast each morning provided by our sponsoring hotel, Doubletree. They also received gas money from the Killeen Rotary Club and a goodie bag of fast food gift cards, toys, stuffed animals, gifts, snacks and Austin memorabilia from our Rotary Club of Austin. The weather was nice all weekend and hopefully they got to have some special quality time as a family through our Operation Vacation project which was started 20 years ago to honor our military and thank them for their service.
The Rotary Club of Cedar Park Leander hosted a Rotary Bingo Night at La Dosis Coffee +Cocktails in Cedar Park. Enhancing fellowship and networking in our community while fundraising to benefit the Rotary Club, and to give back to our community.
We had an incredible turnout for our Cocktails+Connect monthly mixer. This month was with Leadership Austin on Thursday, April 16th - bringing together over 50 members and guests for a vibrant evening at 5280 Burger & Tap House in Northwest Austin.
