Welcome to District 5870 - Central Texas
Doing Good In The World
Hunger Project
As a District, we want to do our part to help fight Hunger and we have allocated $10,000 to support such an effort. We have developed a partnership with the Central Texas Food Bank to help provide food to the needy areas of our District.
The Navajo Water Project Phase 3 sought funding to install running home water systems in approximately 55 homes of native Navajo’s residing in rural areas of the Dilkon Chapter Arizona. Goal achieved!

Congratulations to Betty Richardson who was awarded the 2021-22 ROTARY INTERNATIONAL SERIVCE ABOVE SELF AWARD! Betty is an amazing Rotarian who lives the life of Service Above Self. She is a member of the RC of Austin University Area.
The following Clubs completed all 5 levels of the Public Image Super Star Challenge and will receive a super cool HASHTAG sign and 3 Yard Signs that we will have shipped to each of the current Club Presidents. THANK YOU for being a PUBLIC IMAGE SUPER STAR CLUB!
The Rotary Club of Austin in partnership with Westlake, West Austin, Cosmopolitan, South Austin and North by Northeast Rotary clubs packed 25,000 food bags for Rise Against Hunger. These may look like simple meals of rice and soy but they represent the battle against world hunger. It is one of the most rewarding Rotary service projects. Service Above Self!
Our Empowering Girls event on Saturday, April 24 was a great success. The district prepared nineteen kits to be distributed in Honduras. Each kit lasts a girl for three years, giving them back about 60 days for school, work, and living!
